“An artist must be free to choose what he does, certainly, but he must also never be afraid to do what he might choose.” ~ Langston Hughes
The truth is, when it comes to self-expression we are all artists in evolution. What our art is will announce itself loudly in terms of what we culturally label as art – like painting, music and dance, or in more subtle ways how we parent, lead, bake, or serve. An artist must overcome his vulnerability to dare to be different and express his or herself without limitation or fear of judgement.
The hurdle the rest of us face is to release any judgment that art must be concrete to be true self-expression. To be fully self-expressed is to fulfill your greatest potential in all the breadth and depth of your unique expression of life is your art. What are you creating? No matter what role your heart dictates, know that it is in reverence to Life itself that we do what we love and do it to the best of our ability. Unpack your particular gifts and share them!
Me agapi,
Marilyn
