“You don’t have to be a wreck. You don’t have to be sick. One’s aim in life should be to die in good health. Just like a candle that burns out.” ~ Jeanne Moreau
Age is a state of mind that the body believes. Too often that belief is that the body will inevitably betray us and we will begin to die long before our heart stops beating. We stop climbing fences or staying up late, laughing over silly things or skinny dipping because we feel that we have outgrown these things. We begin to look for signs of the inevitable.
The truth is the state of our feeling heart – the centre of our very being and perception, affects the state of our beating heart. And the physical heart does so much more than just pushing and pulling blood. It communicates between every cell in our body and with the environment at large. We may not be forever young, but we can be forever youthful and light hearted. Instead of watching for signs, we will watch for ways to invigorate our body and mind and keep our spirit free. There is no reason why we can’t or shouldn’t tango right to the grave and drop in with gratitude for a full life. Looking for the fountain of youth? Grasp a rose in your teeth and dance on!

P.S. Here you can see the 87 year young Jeanne Moreau. French women certainly know a thing or two about the eternal youth of the heart and how to strut it!
