“Leave all the afternoon for exercise and recreation, which are as necessary as reading.  I will rather say more necessary because health is worth more than learning”. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Somewhere along the line of social history we got the notion that to work was more lofty a pursuit than leisure. And that the more hours we put in the wealthier we might be or the more indispensable to the firm or the boss. Sad thing is this is just a contrived notion that serves those we work for far better than it serves us. We have equated busyness with importance.

Well, we have the cultural health crisis as a result. Many of  the ills that are rampant in our modern society are preventable by proper nutrition and adequate recreation. In addition, many of these ills are stress related and can be prevented or cured by natural stress relievers like nutrition and recreation. If we want to achieve true wealth in this life we must understand that we work more efficiently when healthy and relaxed, and we live long and thriving lives to enjoy the fruits of all that labour. What recreational play cartwheels you to health?

Me agapi (with love),

Marilyn
