A successful marriage (life partnership) requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. ~ Mignon McLaughlin
Love relationships – whatever stripe – are a challenge to keep in passion. Forget leaving the cap off the toothpaste or the toilet seat up, living with another person is challenging on every level as the inevitable ups and downs of life and work and family rise up. But sustaining a marriage (or life partnership) that is vital, romantic, passionate, creative and mutually evolving is what true love is all about. And true love is not based on external or material accoutrements but on the unconditional acceptance of another as they are.
If we can accept the one we love as they are and not as we might wish them to be then we can keep the romance of first love alive and anticipate that we will fall in love over and over again. As we grow in a marriage or loving partnership we change and we offer up new ways to love and be loved – always fresh and exciting and renewing while always deepening, strengthening and enduring. Want to keep love alive, evergreen and joyful? Offer your love up first and let nature take its course!
Me agapi (wth love),
Marilyn
