“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Coming to understand that you do not need to be accepted by others is one of the hardest lessons to learn in our current culture. Government, commerce, industry all conspire to create a dependency in an individual so that their survival  in business or power continues. We are indoctrinated from birth to fit in or suffer. Our family and friends are often the first to impose outside judgment of our worthiness and beauty. The ideal set out be these influencers is as unattainable as it is undesirable as it steals our confidence and our freedom to be who we are.

You are beautiful just as you are. In your wholeness. In your uniqueness. In your brilliant reflection of the divine within you. Dare to accept yourself. Let yourself shine. Polish that nugget of your own essence. You will outshine the mediocrity that this beige world demands of us and see yourself as beautiful.
