“Had we not loved ourselves at all, we could never have been obliged to love anything. So that self-love is the basis of all love.” ~ Thomas Traherne
Self-love is an entirely different cat to self aggrandisement. Or egotistic self-importance. It is the innate knowing that you are a unique and necessary element of life itself. All creation evolves through enacting in various forms as amoebas, stars, wind and rock and coyote, bird and human. If we feel love for any of these we know the love we must necessarily have for ourself. We are as beautiful, elegant, unique and perfect as any and all creations.
Our heart is made for love and as you fill it with awareness of your rightful place in the world your self-love becomes rooted in the truth of your worth. And through the same portal of your heart love spills over into every facet of your life. The ‘good’, the ‘bad’ and the extraordinary. And you are that.
Me agapi,
Marilyn
